Responsibilities of the office
The Chief of Staff supports the work of the Office of the President. The role operates within the Presidency, rather than as a separate elected executive office.
It does not replace the constitutional offices of President or Vice President. Specific assignments depend on the President’s delegation.
About Femi Gbajabiamila
Femi Gbajabiamila is a lawyer and former legislator. He became Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on 14 June 2023, after leaving the House of Representatives.
He represented Surulere I in Lagos and served as Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023. His move to the Presidency was a change from a legislative role to a role supporting the executive.
The State House lists his position within the Office of the President. This profile distinguishes that supporting office from the elected positions of President and Vice President.
